A Cleanliness & Plantation Drive:
(An initiative to support ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’)
As we all know that in today’s time the entire country is suffering from Pollution. Trees are an important, cost-effective solution in reducing pollution and improving air quality. Vidya School of Business organized a cleanliness and plantation drive in its backyard on 29th November, 2019. All the students and the staff members participated in this drive with full enthusiasm and energy.
The Event was bifurcated into two parts; in the first half Director Dr. Vasudha Sharma, all the Faculty Members, staff members and all the students cleaned the backyard area for plantation.
In the second half eight Spiritual and Medicinal plants, namely Amla, Sahjan (Moringa), Arjun (Terminalia), Allspice, Shami, Rudraksh, Mango and Bael were planted.
A donation drive promoting Communal Harmony
(An Initiative by National Foundation for Communal Harmony)
Vidya School of Business actively participated in collecting donation for promoting Communal Harmony as a part of an initiative by National Foundation for Communal Harmony from 7th of November to 25th of November 2019.
NFCH is an autonomous organization under Ministry of Home Affairs, government of India. The Foundation organizes /supports different programs with the involvement of students, youths, teachers, academicians, members of civil society, academic institutions etc. for spreading the message of communal harmony and National integration amongst diverse segments of society. Coordinators from MBA for the activity were Palak Tayal, Nikita Jain, Mayank Jain, Saurabh Singh and Arjun Singh.
The program aims to bring about national integration, peace, unity and development among the people of India with special emphasis on assisting destitute children who have become orphans because of communal riots and terrorist activities. The program was successful in motivating students to make them understand communal harmony in a wider context as narrated by Vivekananda, which enriches human life by promoting unity in diversity and inspiring people to reach the common goal of national integration.
‘Aloha Novato 2019’ Freshers’ Celebration
Aloha Novato- freshers’ celebration for newly enrolled students (Batch: 2019-21) was held on 14th of September, 2019 in Vidya School of Business. The theme of the event was “fantasy land”. The event started after the formal welcome speech by Dr. Vasudha Sharma, Director VSB. The fresher’s day was filled with excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness. The dress code for the fresher’s day was “dress your best”.
After this all the other participants of this great evening came up with their unique ramp walk in pairs. The participants introduced themselves one by one in the allotted time which was 1 min per contestant. Later on the anchors were replaced for the Fun games, which were led by Mayank Sharma and Nikita Jain. The winners of Mr. and Ms. Fresher titles were Akshit Vashishth and Pragati Tomar, respectively. The other awards given were Mr. Handsome – Sajal Rastogi, Ms. Beautiful -Taru Jain, Mr. Style Icon -Ayush Malik, Ms. Style Icon -Farheen Hussain, Mr. Versatile – Abhinay Pratap, and Ms. Versatile – Nandani Sharma. All awards were given by the jury and students of 2nd yr to the respective students, with the trophies to all, including sachets and gifts for Mr. and Mrs. Fresher titles.
The event came to an end by dancing on the beats of latest bollywood numbers on DJ and which was ended by a sumptuous lunch.
Induction Program for MBA students (5th -10th Aug, 2019)
An induction program of newly enrolled students for the batch 2019-21 was conducted from 5th till 10th of August 2019 at VSB. Prof. Divya Rana and Prof. Kalpana Yadav organized Ice Breaking sessions for students. The aim of the activity “Who Am I?” was to help individuals learn new names, meet new people, discover common interests and create a sense of camaraderie.
In the latter half of the program, there were lectures on Business Statistics by Prof. Prashant Sharma and Computer Application by Prof Shashank Goel. The faculty informed the students about the courseware of their subjects.
On day three, freshmen met the Placement Head- Mr. Ankit Jain who told them about the expectations of the companies approaching campus for placements and also how the placement department makes them get their dream jobs.
Later on, Vidya Alumni Society’s Alumnus Mohd. Imlak spoke to freshmen acquainting them with the alumni network which is there to help them in getting good jobs and also enlightening them about the key focus areas of entrepreneurship. Mohd. Imlak is also a founding member of ‘Blooming Biryani’; an entrepreneurial business specialized in providing delicious biryani to the public. He also discussed the challenges that an entrepreneur faces and also the possible solutions to create a win-win situation.
The last session “What matters most in life?” was taken by the Director VSB. The session was a 60 minute inspirational dose which instilled an optimistic zeal to keep growing in all walks of life.
The last day started with a bang as Prof. Kalpana Yadav and Prof. Divyaa Rana conducted a “Poster making Competition”. This competition facilitated team work and understanding along with creative thinking. The students presented their work beautifully.
Dr. Vasudha Sharma, Director VSB organized an activity ‘How do you feel now?’ The aim of the activity was to get feedback on what they learned during the week and how they felt after attending the orientation.
Poster Making Competition under Swachhta Pakhwada, 2019
In keeping with the MHRD’s vision of making India free from plastic under the ‘Ban of Single use plastic’ campaign and also creating awareness by its water conservation campaign ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyan’ during Swachhta Pakhwada 2019 , Vidya School of Business organized a Poster Making Competition for students of MBA focusing on ‘Swachha Bharat Abhiyan’.
The event saw overwhelming response from the students and teachers wherein on the stipulated day we had 5 teams pouring in their intellectual and creative juices in to creating some stunning and thought provoking posters on the given theme.
These masterpieces not only promoted the spirit of not using plastics anymore to saving water for the future generations. The prizes were distributed by the cleaning staff to the winning teams.
The Posters thus made by the students would be used to promote the cause of Cleanliness in nearby villages in near future for the awareness campaign.
Seminar for Graduates: ‘Employability Trends 2020’ held on 23rd June, 2018
It gives us immense pleasure to announce that VIDYA School of Business organized an employability seminar ‘EMPLOYABILITY TRENDS 2020’: Navigate your career on 23rd June, 2018 at VIDYA Knowledge Park, which aimed at providing expert advice and guidance to graduation final year students regarding their further studies and future job prospects.
Our eminent speaker Prof Lt Commander (Retired) Yograj Singh Negi, Founder and Director, School for Leaders, Dehradun, threw light on current and future job prospects and industry requirements. Prof Negi is a well-known corporate trainer and a Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner with an avid experience in corporate and academics. He is currently running his self-established School for Leaders in Dehradun.
This seminar was a great opportunity for understanding and analyzing the key areas to focus on for the enhancement of one’s employability and shaping up of an ideal candidate for the industry of his/her choice.
Orientation Program for MBA Students (14th -17th Aug, 2018)
VIDYA School of Business conducted an Orientation Program for MBA students. Three days of Fun & Learning, coupled with various Ice breaker Activities, Informative guest lectures, Industrial visits and Sports Events. We welcomed fresh faces in the campus and their excitement & energy was beyond expectation!
Teacher’s Day Celebration on 5 Sep, 2018
Teacher’s Day was celebrated in the department with great zeal and enthusiasm and the students left no stone unturned in making the faculty members feel special and happy.
‘WELKOM FIESTA’ Fresher’s Party organized for MBA I year students (Batch: 2018-20) on 8th Sep, 2018
The 8th of September was marked as a memorable day in the life of every fresher at VSB. The theme of the event was FIRE AND ICE. The program started with opening prayers in form of a dance performance in front of Lord Ganesha which was followed by Vidya Anthem that evokes and lauds the traditions of the Vidya Knowledge Park. The program commenced after a formal welcome speech by Director VSB Dr. Vasudha Sharma which left the students energized.
Twenty students were shortlisted for Mr. and Ms. Fresher out of 40 participants. Later these shortlisted students, performed for two minutes as to qualify the Talent Hunt Round. After stiff competition finally 10 students could make up to the Round Three, The Question and Answer Round. Everyone answered the questions smartly but finally Mr. Mayank Verma and Ms. Ayesha Zuberi won the title of Mr. and Ms. Fresher respectively. There was another title Mr. and Miss Ice which was won by Mr. Chirag Mittal and Ms Anupriya Sharma.
The honors were rewarded by the faculty members and the students of 2nd Year.
‘RAMLEELA’- Satya Vijay Gatha hosted and organized by VSB on 13th Oct, 2018
A cultural celebration of Ramleela was hosted and organized by VIDYA School of Business at VIDYA Knowledge Park level on 13th October, 2018. The program began with a Ganesh Vandana and lightning of lamp by the Chief Guests. Different scenes from Ramayana were allotted to the various departments of VKP and they had to enact a play depicting their scenes. The best play enactment was rewarded with cash prizes. VSB outshined and stood third winning a whopping amount of 2100 rupees as cash prize.
POSTER-MAKING COMPETITION organized on the occasion of Rahtriya Ekta Diwas (An AICTE initiative)
Vidya School of Business organized a poster making competition on the theme national unity for celebrating Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on the occasion of birth anniversary of late Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on 31 October 2018 as an initiative of AICTE.
All the students and faculty members of VSB took oath on Rashtriya Diwas to maintain the unity and harmony in the nation. In the latter half of the session students made posters on the theme National Unity. Around 60 students participated and could paint their thought on the paper beautifully.
The session inculcated sense of responsibility and unity amongst the students and faculty.
Children’s Day Celebration on 14th Nov, 2018
Children’s Day was celebrated in the department with great zeal and enthusiasm and the teachers left no stone unturned in making the students feel special and happy.
‘INSTAX: Jhatak Se’ event executed by VSB at FUNVILLE 2018
VIDYA School of Business organized an event ‘INSTAX: Jhatak Se’- A photo booth delivering instant photos to the students on 25th Dec, 2018. It was an integral part of FUNVILLE- CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL which is organized every year at VIDYA Global School.
NIRVANA 2k19- College Cultural Fest (1st -2nd Feb, 2019)
A colorful and memorable cultural fest was organized on 1st and 2nd Feb, 2019 in VKP. In this mega event, many competitions were organized namely: Courtyard Creation (3D Rangoli Competition), EXPOSURE- Photography Competition, Mr. & Miss Nirvana, Danza Gruppal (Dance Competition), Rhythm (Instrumental Special), Stand-Up Comedy and Canto Solista (Solo Singing).
The fest was wrapped up by a dazzling performance by Nikitha Gandhi, famous Bollywood Singer.
SQUIZ MY BRAIN – A Management Quiz conducted by IIM Kashipur on 2nd April, 2019
A quiz was organized on 2nd April, 2019 by IIM Kashipur for students of MBA in VICT seminar hall under the guidance of Mr. Shibhnanda, Mr. Tanuj and Mr. Vaibhav from IIM Kashipur.
The quiz was based on general awareness and aptitude around 60 students participated. Even the faculty members were excited to participate along with students. Ankit Rathi from MBA I yr bagged the first position and Shivani from MBA I yr secured second position. The main motive was to facilitate a copious flow of knowledge and ideas amongst the students. The experts from IIM shared their views on entrepreneurship and motivated the students to be one by citing examples of Ola cabs and Oyo rooms.
The participants raised several queries after the quiz and management experts on the subjects answered them satisfactorily. The program was successfully concluded with a formal vote of thanks by HOD, VIDYA School of Business to all the participants and management experts.
Hasta La Vista ‘Farewell Party’ for MBA II year students (Batch: 2017-19) held on 2nd May, 2019
A Farewell Party ‘Hasta La Vista 2019’ was organized by MBA I year students for the passing batch: 2017-19 with great zeal and enthusiasm on 2 May, 2019. First class arrangements were made for the Goodbye Event and a cultural program consisting of dances, skits, singing, ramp-walk and talent hunt was conducted for the same. Nikhil Batra was crowned as Mr. Farewell along with Aakriti Jain who was crowned as Miss Farewell for the day.
